Simple Setups
John Emerson is convinced that by keeping his river fishing leaders simple he puts more fish in the net.I recently received a telephone call from Steve Cullen inviting me to a day’s grayling fishing on the River Test. I am always happy to go river fishing at any opportunity, and was grateful for a day out away from all of the post-Christmas and New Year doom and gloom. The reason he asked me to tag along is because I’d been telling him about leader setups for river fishing. Let me explain…
I have set up an Internet company called Uniqueflies, and since starting up I have been inundated with e-mails and calls asking me for advice and information on the setting up of leaders for river fishing. It seems that many anglers are confused. While I am always happy to share advice with anyone who contacts me via the website or by calling me, Steve and I decided that I could use this opportunity to share my information with the readers of Today’s Flyfisher.
