Anglers are taking some big fish at Ravensthorpe. Two boat partners fishing the Island had an excellent day with M Britton returning a 10lb 6oz Rainbow with a white lure and C Abraham returning an 11lb 2oz Rainbow (white and green lure). Paul Haskey of Bilton, Rugby, took 20 fish on an orange blob.

Coarse Fishing: Ardleigh Reservoir
The pike fishing season ended on a high note as a number of good quality pike were caught in the last two weeks. Jamie Pearce and Richard Lawson both had one pike each from their boat sessions and Nick MaCleanan netted a brace, again from a boat. It was the bank anglers, however, who enjoyed the most success. Clive Baldwin landed a fine fish of around 20lb and Martin Brewer netted eight pike in the last week. The culvert at the A12 end of the reservoir has produced excellent catches of roach, rudd and perch with Danny Baker reporting a typical 20lb bag with some really good quality rudd included.

Grafham Water opens Friday 19 March
Grafham Water opens on Friday 19 March. Anglers can fish for the New Lodge Trophy for the biggest fish caught on Opening Day. The Bob Church Open for the Frank Cutler Memorial Trophy is on 11 April.
Beginners courses: 13,17 & 28 March; 10 & 21 April; 1,8,23 & 27 May and other dates throughout the season.
