Big Draycote Brownie - 16/07/2008

Bob Wallinger of Leicestershire has landed the best brown trout of the season at Draycote Water. He was fishing the rudder between Middle and Musborough Shoals with a green-and-orange lure at a depth of five feet when he had the take. The huge brownie weighed in at a massive 9lb 9oz and has set the record for the season. Bob brought many large fish to the surface during the day and landed some cracking rainbows. He also had a follow from a very large brown that’s been named ‘Scarface’ by anglers due to the mark on its head, and is estimated at 12lb in weight.

Bob is already the holder of the record brown trout at Draycote and the heaviest bag caught this season at the fishery of 40lb 3oz.
