Hook: Hanak H266, size 8 or 10
Thread: Try floss instead of thread
Body: Chartreuse Fritz followed by orange Fritz Eyes: 10mm yellow ethafoam cord
Tail: Mirror Flash or similar

Around this time of year the fish become preoccupied with many of the natural insects that can be found on our large waters. Fishing with nymphs and buzzers is a great way of catching these trout but there are times when they tend to lose interest or become so selective that things get a bit tricky, to say the least. It’s during these times that the Tequila Booby will really get them going. Try fishing it on a full floater or midge tip line and pull it ‘fast’ through rising trout. Fish will bow wave after the fly, often engulfing it at the last minute before you lift off to cast again – very exciting stuff!
