A quick glance at the butt section reveals it’s a little over 2½oz. It looks good too, with its shadow-green blank and the black nickel reel seat and dark burl wood insert set below an ergonomically shaped cork handle.
The design of the blank gives the Recon a fast action, which allows the user to punch out a nymph or small dry with ease, but at the same time provides the crispness to make instant contact on the strike. Considering the slimness of the blank there’s a lot of backup in reserve, so you can be confident when playing bigger specimens.
The Recon is versatile too, and would be ideal when casting a short line on a small stream, as well as on smaller stillwaters requiring 40-yard casts.
Made in the US, the rod features a high-quality stripping guide and silver snake rings, and comes supplied in an aluminium rod tube.
