Guide Fly Fishing Sage Bolt 9ft 6-wt Rod

I first used the 9ft 6-wt, four-piece Sage Bolt while out on a feature with Ben Bangham at Albury Estate.

I was impressed with the way it performed when casting and playing the fish that I caught. The rod has a fast action, which I quite like, and presenting flies at short distance and long range was effortless. A couple of false casts and most of the fly line was on its way out! I like the way it performed once a fish was hooked. Every turn and twist travelled down the rod and there was plenty of flex and power to guide the fish where I wanted it to go.

Designed for casting long distances, the ultra-fast action of the Bolt creates tighter loops and is the ideal tool for casting into the wind. The colour is described as ‘salmonfly’, a rusty brown with orange whippings.

The rod is built using Sage’s Generation 5 technology, has Fuji ceramic stripper guides and hard chromed snake eyes and comes in a black rod bag and black ballistic nylon rod tube with divided liner should you wish to store your rod this way. It is also available in its freshwater range in 4-wt and 5-wt and in its saltwater range in 6-wt to 8-wt.

This is an impressive casting tool and fishing rod and makes for the ideal small-water rod.
