Summary Of Fishing:
Opening Day Sat 3rd March at Lockwood Beck Trout Fishery
66 anglers caught 865 Rainbows to 10lb and returned 3 browns to 3lb 8oz

123 rainbows were kept with an average weight of 2lb 3oz
Bank anglers fishing before lunch had the best of the sport Dave Sanders, Robert Thompson and Junior Matthew Watson all caught 26. Colin Lynas and Graham Hill both caught 22 Colin got all of his fish on Dawson’s Nomad wading out from the culvert. Colin Green had 21 from the high bank on a small black tadpole. Tom Keenan caught 16 from all around the lake keeping 6 for 24lb Tom had to two best fish of the day one at 10lb and one 6lb overwintered.
Boats anglers Gareth Tilley and Simon Nicolas caught 65 between them and Simon Robinson and his farther Graham had 58 between them on small lures fished in the top two ft. It has been a typical opening day with fish caught from all around the lake on a variety of lures and nymphs fished on Floating and Intermediate lines.
