FISHERY REPORT - 5th March 2012
Summary Of Fishing:
It was a good week at Swanswater with plenty of Tigers and Blues figuring in the catch returns from all three ponds. On Swanswater the Tigers were taking close to the bank and were mostly taking small lures or nymphs fished on an intermediate line which had to be brought right in to the edge to attract them. Favourite patterns included Dancer, Cat’s Whisker, Tadpole, Damsel, PTN and Montana. Rainbows and Blues were further out and many were caught on buzzers fished 3 to 5 feet down. The fish were well spread out this week and were getting caught all round the pond, although when the water cooled down with the drop in temperature at the weekend most were taken in the main area with the dam being a favourite spot. A few fish were taken on dry flies on the small ponds, but most were taking lures, nymphs or wets in the top 2 feet of the water.
