FISHERY REPORT - 18th March 2012
Summary Of Fishing:
It’s been another good week at Lockwood
158 Anglers caught 739 Rainbows to 10lb 8oz. and returned 4 out of season brows to 3lb 8oz
Rod Average 4.7
201 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 3oz
Bank anglers have had good sport on a variety of methods some have done really well on buzzers fished on a floating line others blobs small lures and nymphs fished on an intermediate.
P Runic fished on our 4hour permit and caught 22 rainbows on orange blobs. D Grabham had 17 from the top moorside block on Cats Whisker. Brothers Mal and Jeff Dickenson caught 21 between them on lures from the high bank keeping 12 for 27lb. Dave Hudson caught 12 keeping 6 for 11lb from the moorside and woodside. Garry Coverdale and Mark Walker caught 9 each on buzzers from the dam.
Boats
Boat anglers had some excellent catches from all over the lake.
Ian Vickers caught 26 rainbows on Orange Blobs on Wednesday fishing out from the woodside and 45 on the same pattern on Friday from the Whitby end of the dam. On Monday John McGarrell caught 28 rainbows to 5lb on buzzers. John caught from the holly bush, top moorside block and just out from the point, He returned on Friday and caught 15 more on buzzers fishing out from the jetty.
Steve Mills caught 22 rainbows to 6lb on a Dawson’s Olive fished on an intermediate line. M Russell and P Runic caught 36 between them Keeping 12 for 28lb. Wheel chair angler Paul Richardson fished from the Wheely boat and caught 16 rainbows to 6lb on Diawl Bachs. Malcolm Jefferson and Alan Jenkins both caught 12. Peter McLean caught 11 on a small olive nymph. Mrs Olive Murray caught 14 on damsels over todays her best fish was a superb 10lb 8oz rainbow. Garry Coverdale caught 10 on buzzers fishing out from the point.
