Foremark weekly report week ending 25/09/2016

Telephone Number: 01283 703202

As we move into the autumn and with a good head of fish in the water as expected our fishing continues to improve.

Our water clarity is very good at present with plenty of fresh water running from the cascade. The water levels still remain good with plenty of room on the sandy shores. The boats fished well on Monday with dry’s and muddlers being the pattern to use. Mr J Machin also took 3 fish in his last four-hour session from the bank. Tuesday the fish were still on the dry’s Mr S Wilson landing 12 fish to his boat drifting daddies along the cascade Pulling boobies across the top by number two buoy worked for season permit holder Mr Spence on Wednesday morning taking 7 fish. Drifting open water was the method for boat partners Mr C Gamble and Mr M Webster on Thursday netting 14 fish to the boat. Derby County Angling Club member Mr A Topping fished from a boat on Friday to land 7 trout using a olive minkie. Mr P Sadler used daddies on Saturday to tempt 10 fish to his net best of them a 3lbs rainbow.

The Annual graham Tagg boat pairs match was held on Sunday with 14 rod catching 64 fish for a match average of 4.9 the winning pair was Mr I Buckley and Mr G Moody with their 12 fish limit totalling 30LBs 6oz.the best fish was part of Mr Miller and Mr Baxters catch weighing in at 3LBs 6oz

Twelve-year-old Andrew Stannard experienced his first fly casting session on Friday with coach Kevin Hart when the casting session on the pontoon was interrupted by the arrival of a shoal of fry feeding rainbows. A quick switch from the hook less wool fly to a real fly pattern. Which Andrew then cast to the fish he then went on to hook and play the fish unaided he then followed up with another trout 15 minutes later. Well done Andrew see you again soon.
