With the cooler weather the trout are now on the fry, the trout can be seen in the margins during the early part of the day smashing into large shoals of fry around the pontoon and along the shore line in front of the lodge and around the cascade.
On Monday Mr M. Dimond fished the bank taking 8 fish on minkie booby fished on an intermediate line. Season permit holder Mr J Graney fished from a boat near number 5 buoy using popper hoppers and boated 7 fish. White and green lures was the fly of choice for Mr J Fogg on Wednesday as he took seven trout to his boat. Friday was the best day of the week with a rod average of 3.8, Mr Scragg and Mr Nadin boated 26 trout to their boat using klinkhamer and black peacock fished dry on floating lines. Scott Wilson took 18 trout the best being a stunning brown, photo on our facebook page www.facebook.com/FlyFishStore while Jamie Scot caught 9 trout and a 9lbs14oz pike. Mr R smith also included a 12lbs pike to his catch, and Alan Topping took 5 trout from the bank during a last 4-hour session. Dixie Baxter fished on Saturday from a boat and enjoyed catching trout on a range of different fly’s and methods including daddies, blobs and snakes.Mr Wilson was fishing around number four buoy on Sunday tempting 12 fish on a clear glass line.
Foremark Fly Fishers held the Ray Gibson Memorial match on Sunday with 17 rods catching 36 fish between them for a match average of 2.1. The winner on the day was Alan Dawes weighing in his four fish bag limit for 8lbs 8oz Alan also took the prize for the biggest fish 3lbs 0.5 oz. Chris Shreeve was second with 7lbs 14oz.

6thNovember Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre, Skegness Charity match, organized by the local Angling Club Foremark Fly Fishers, & held here at Foremark on Sunday 6th November, arrive by 9.30 match starts at 10.00 till 15,00. Prizes traditional fur & feather style hamper for the winner. Bottles of wine for second and third & bottle of port for the biggest fish, donated by Fishery Management (uk) Ltd, also other prizes on the day.
We are now offering limited fly only pike fishing. All pike fishing must be PRE- BOOKED you must also have a suitable unhooking mat, the correct size landing net, long Forceps, all fly’s must be attached to a wire trace, All fly’s to be 4 inch or longer in length. All pike to be returned.

A Reminder For Bank Anglers
From Monday 11th April 2016 we have negotiated with our landlord STW a trial period to the 31st November 2016 which allows us to bank fish along the first 400yds of the DAM WALL
Certain restriction will be in place for anglers fishing the Dam Wall, they must not disturb any of the stones facing the dam, lifejackets will need to be worn supplied if required at the lodge, access on & off the dam wall will be from one area (the pontoon / lodge end) which will be clearly marked
