This week has seen some great buzzer fishing. Many fish have been seen and caught further out from the margins and closer to the surface. On Wednesday we released 25 tagged fish and announced our 25th Anniversary tagged fished competition. During Thursday and Friday 3 tagged fish were caught claiming the first 3 of our 25 prizes on offer.
The 1st prize winner was Miles Hilton-Barber ( blind fisherman & adventurer ) with Andrew Gale and Robert Brown catching 2 further prizes.
The rod average for this week was 8.3 with 838 fish caught by 101 anglers.
The heaviest Rainbow was 6lb 4oz caught by Mr Brown on a buzzer
The heaviest Brown was 3lb 2oz caught by Mr Brammeld.
The most popular spots have been around Brown Ale Bay, Tower Bank, Shiningford Creek, North End, Stitch Plantation, sailing club island, Buoy 5 and Millfields.
Methods & Flies
The most successful patterns were both wet and dry flies including cormorant, orange lure, black & green lure, viva, montana, hot head damsel, cruncher, black buzzer, Boobies, cats whisker and dabbler.
A whole range of methods have been used this week, floating, intermediate and sinking lines.
