Foremark’s fishing has gone from strength to strength this last week with a superb rod average of 8.6 if you thought the fishing the previous week was good then this last weeks has been fantastic. The newly stocked blue trout that were stocked just before the bank holiday weekend have shown very well first in and around flamingo bay and currently down carvers arm to the wires. Most of the fish this last week have fallen to damsels, black cormorants, black or green and white fritz and buzzers with the majority being in the top four feet of the water.
The banks fished well on Monday as season permit holder Mr J Fogg banked 17 fish as did Mr G Mcginley. By Tuesday fish started to show well down Carvers arm with the boats really getting in amongst the fish season permit holder John Wooffinden reported boating 26 fish Mr Jamie Scott also boated 26 fish on a mix of cormorant’s and buzzers, while the banks fared just as well Mr J Graney banking over 20 fish on black and silver buzzers and Mr P Walker also banked 23 fish on buzzers and nymphs.
Mr J Fogg was back on the banks on Wednesday catching 22 trout Derby County Angling Club member netted 11 fish from the banks. Thursday Mr M Reid was boat fishing and got amongst the new blues landing 23 fish of which 17 were blues up to 4lbs, season permit holder Mr B Burton was on the bank and netted 38 fish on green and white fritz and floating line.
It was nice to see some of the lads from Coppenhall Fly Fishers on Friday fishing the banks Glen Moody, Ian Buckley and Mark Harrison all had over 30 fish each using floating lines and cormorants. The boats fished just as well Mr R Cotterill took over 30 fish to his boat on a midge tip line in bramble bay.
