What a great week it has been!
Our current rod average is 4.83, some anglers had double figure returns.
Many fish being caught in deeper water in the main basin.
We only have 2 boats left for the Autumn Open Competition.

The rod average for this week was 4.83 with 251 fish caught by 52 anglers.
The heaviest Rainbow was 4lbs 9oz caught by Nick Hemmings.
The heaviest brown was 1lbs 8oz caught by Robery McCleary.
The most popular spots have been around Buoy 3 & 8, Dam Wall, North End and the main basin.
Methods & Flies
The most successful patterns were Green Damsel, Black Minkie, pink snake, cats whisker, black fritz and blob.
Most anglers have fished on a drift in the main basin using intermediate or sinking lines using the fast retrieve method.
Casting Lessons for beginners
Introduction to casting with a fly.
An opportunity to learn the basics of casting, knots and entomology under the guidance of a qualified instructor. Our qualified instructor will provide all equipment for the course - you are welcome to bring your own. Meet at the fishery lodge at 10am for morning sessions, each session will last approx 2 hours.
The cost is £30 per person.

25 Year Anniversary Tagged Fish Competition
To mark Carsington Water's 25th Anniversary we have launched a tagged fish competition. We have released 25 tagged fish into the reservoir with a number of prizes to be won for those caught throughout the 2017 season.
To date 15 of the 25 fish have been caught so lots more prizes up for grabs.
Autumn Open Competition - Only 2 Boats Left
Carsington is a great venue for Fly fishing competitions and following the success of both our Spring and Autumn competitions we are pleased to announce the date for the 2017 Autumn Open on Sat 7th October 2017. The Carsington Autumn Open competition is aimed at all anglers who enjoy a days boat fishing with a friend. It will be an organised event based on two people per boat with an individual bag limit of 6 fish. Prizes will be awarded for the winning pair with the heaviest collective bag and a number of individual prizes. The cost of entry will be 60.00 per pair including permits and petrol boat hire. Please can we remind our anglers:
- Always wear your killcord whilst the engine is running
- Do not stand up whilst the boat is moving either as driver or passenger
- Wear your lifejacket on top of all other clothing
- Carry a mobile phone
It's good to be able to feature those great catches on our weekly reports. We have already received some great shots, thanks to those who have emailed in.
We always have a camera in the fishery lodge so let us know if your catch is worth a snap!
It is now possible to book your days fishing online 24/7. It’s a great way of making a booking out of hours and checking the availability of boats.
