An exclusive club with access to one of the best trout fisheries in the Lake District has announced it is opening its doors to more members.
Hawkshead Angling Club has access to Esthwaite water, enjoying some superb rainbow and brown trout sport. Traditionally the club has only offered membership to anglers within the village of Hawkshead itself, situated to the north of Esthwaite. However this year Hawkshead AC has announced that it will be accepting applications from any angler from any part of the UK.
“Like any club we’re looking to fill our membership spaces and get the most from the club,” Esthwaite fishery managed Dave Coleman told Total Flyfisher. “With the recession we’ve seen out numbers dwindle, leading us to open up the available spaces we have in the club to anyone who is interested in joining us.”
As well as trout fishing, Esthwaite also offers superb pike and coarse fishing, with club members benefiting from a 60percent discount on boat hire at the venue.
