Weekend of great sport of big reservoir with big specimens caught.
The big rainbows of Anglian Water’s Ravensthorpe put in a few appearances this weekend as sport on the Northamptonshire reservoir warmed up in the mild March weather.
Falling to the rod of Market Harborough angler Mike Osgood, the biggest specimen over the two days weighed in at 10lb. Mike presented a bloodworm on a floating line, fishing with a slow retrieve to tempt the trout, which was caught from a boat at the water’s Hinkman Spinney area.
Oakham fly angler Peter de Kremer also had a weekend to remember when he hooked one of Ravensthorpe’ bigger residents. Fishing Cote Corner, Peter cast out a midge tip and black buzzer to take a stunning fish of 9lb 9oz.
