Falling to the rod of Market Harborough angler Mike Osgood, the biggest specimen over the two days weighed in at 10lb. Mike presented a bloodworm on a floating line, fishing with a slow retrieve to tempt the trout, which was caught from a boat at the water’s Hinkman Spinney area.
Oakham fly angler Peter de Kremer also had a weekend to remember when he hooked one of Ravensthorpe’ bigger residents. Fishing Cote Corner, Peter cast out a midge tip and black buzzer to take a stunning fish of 9lb 9oz.
