Exciting time for salmon flies as respect fly tier joins well known firm.
One of the country’s top flyfishing firms has made a major signing that will see its range of salmon patterns go from strength-to-strength.
Respected Scottish fly tier and owner of the Helmsdale Company, Ronald Sutherland, has joined Fulling Mill as a new source of patterns and to develop a new range of salmon flies for the company.
With 35 years fly tying experience, with 25 of those being commercial tying, Ronald was taught his craft by the famous late Miss Megan Boyd from Kintradwell Brora – held by many as the finest salmon fly tiers in the world, and will be a hugely valuable asset to the well known company.
"My business has grown from providing very high quality and innovative salmon flies for Scottish anglers to a worldwide client base; I aim to pass on all my salmon fishing experience to help develop a superb new range of salmon flies for Fulling Mill,” said Ronald. “It is an honour to team up with such a well respected and forward thinking company with a superb team of dedicated anglers at their core.’’
