Long trip with husband pays off with new pb for lady angler.
At 11lb 15oz, this hefty rainbow not only made the long trip to Stirlingshire’s Swanswater Fishery more than worthwhile for its captor - and also meant she got one over on her angling husband.
Having made the journey from the Scottish highlands to the venue near Sauchieburn, Stathpeffer-based Mrs hunter proved that ladies can often be counted on to tempt the bigger fish out of hiding while she fished alongside her partner.
Fishing the trout water for the first time, she presented a Yellow Dancer next to a big beech tree on the water’s dam wall to get the impressive rainbow to strike. A hectic fight ensued before Mr Hunter netted the fish for his wife and presented her with a new personal best.
“I was still shaking when I went to reception to get the fish weighed and have the photo taken,” said Mrs Hunter. "I was over the moon to catch a fish of that size."
