Anglian Water’s big reservoirs continue to produce the goods and despite the changeable weather, buzzer tactics have been producing plenty of fish.
Rutland anglers have been enjoying good sport from both boat and bank with the dam end of the reservoir the place to be.
Best rainbow of the week was a 6lb 12oz fish taken by Norfolk angler Bill Coppin while Michael Connor made the long drive south from Weatherby pay off with a 6lb 6oz rainbow. Both the big rainbows fell for buzzers fished from the bank.
And Grafham Water’s rod average is still up at 3.61 fish per angler The best bag of the week was an eight fish haul totalling 35lb 8oz that fell to Netherlands-based David Graham and included fish of 6lb and two of 5lb 8oz.
The Cambridgeshire venue has been busy hosting the finals of both the Troutmaster competition and the prestigious Anglian Water Airflo Individual final and it was another Benelux visitor that saw off the locals in the Airflo event. Belgian Jos Peters became individual champion with a total match weight including time bonus of 25lb 7oz and a best fish of 3lb 15oz.
