Grafham Report

Bank anglers enjoying great sport with double figure bags being taken around the dam area.

Grafham Water
Fish week 758 (season 22,420) Returns 250 (5,710) Rod average 3.03(3.92)
Grafham Water has again fished well for both boat and bank trout anglers with the bank anglers taking the cream of the sport.  However the biggest fish of the week was a massive 33lb pike!  Season ticket holder James Woodroff of Fenstanton had a fantastic day boating two 20lb plus Pike and a 33lb specimen by 11.30 in the morning!  James was lure fishing with an 8 inch fox replicant. Reports continue to reach us of big fish at Grafham Water and Predator anglers can boat fish with lures and dead sea bait over 18cm until 27 November.

Trout anglers fishing the banks have had a tremendous week’s fishing with many season ticket holders catching and releasing ten plus trout in a morning session.  The Dam has once again produced the most consistent fishing for the bank anglers but as the week went on the Willows, G buoy, Deep Water Point and Pylon Point, Hill Farm, Gaynes Cove and the Seat all started to produce some very good and consistent fishing.  Floating lines with shrimp patterns, crunchers, diawl bachs and minkies have all produced good catch rates.

Boat anglers have had some terrific sport with Gaynes Cove, Dam, G Buoy, Rectory Bay and Valley Creek all producing good fishing.  The main method for the boat anglers this week has been floating or sink tip lines with minkies, diawl bachs, vivas, cats whisker boobies and shrimp patterns generally fished around the margins.
