Toft Newton Weekly Report

Some good fishing with a high rod average at the 40acre Lincolnshire fishery.

Weekly results week ending - 21th October

83 rods caught 389 fish rod average. 4.7

A more Autumnal feel to the weather this week with the first 'proper' frost perhaps heralding the beginning of 'proper' fry feeding. Lots of buzzer sport throughout the majority of the week with black or olive best but the last day or two small boobies, cat's whisker and minkie patterns all good. Fish still pretty high up in the water so floaters preferable fishing down to about 3 feet.

Lots of decent fish out, 26 over 5lb with best at around 12lb caught and released by Tony Ranson, another of 9lb 3oz to Dave Trotman on a minkie, pic attached. Several others caught and lost and as in typical fishermens' tales - they were much much bigger!!

Best areas have been the north west corner when the wind suits but on the whole black pipe corner still producing well. Fry activity best around the valve tower and boat ramp as usual.
