Ravensthorpe Report Oct 24

Double figure rainbow caps good week's fishing at Ravensthorpe.

Fish week 280 (season 11,471 ) Returns 58 (2,654) Rod average 4.8 (4.3)

Anglers have enjoyed excellent sport at Ravensthorpe this week.  Fish of the week fell to Andy Kyriaeon.  Andy fished from a boat around the aerator using floating line and a bloodworm pattern to land a corker of a Rainbow weighing in at 10lb 2oz.

The trout are starting to feed on the fry in and around the weedbeds.  Intermediate lines and minkies are accounting for some excellent catches with plenty of 3lb and 4lb fish caught.

The dam is also starting to fish well with floating lines and nymphs catching plenty of fish with intermediate lines and minkies also worth a go.

The Pike anglers experienced some good fishing this week.  The best reported Pike went to 29lb and was caught on a dead bait.  There are also plenty of doubles being taken on spoons.  Mike Griffin and Andy Kyriaeon also had a good Pike whilst fly fishing, this was estimated at over 20lb.
