Trout anglers in the north west can look forward to some great sport over the next year, following the news that there are big plans for Macclesfield’s Danebridge Fishery.
New owner Lorne Chadwick bought out his sisters to take over the family business just a month or so ago, but already he has set about making changes to the venue.
As well a new parking facilities and better access, there are also plans for Danebridge’s lake to be enlarged, with the banks being taken back and the majority of the reeds removed. Plus bringing on the next generation of fly anglers is at the top of Lorne’s agenda.
“I’ve got plenty of ideas for improving the fishery,” he told Total Flyfisher. “The car park and enlarging of the lake are just the start.
"We have a special kids fishing area, which I’d like to do more with as it’s important to get these youngsters into the sport. This year we also did an event for Fishing For Heroes, which raised hundreds of pounds for the charity. Next year I want to do even more, and also have plenty more events at the fishery. So watch this space.”
