Venue fishing report for the week ending November 13.
Fish week 199 (season 27,541) Returns 108 (8,938) Rod average 1.84(3.11)
The best fish of the week fell to Doug MacNicol of Oakham who netted a 6lb 8oz Rainbow. Alan Newton of Metheringham caught a 5lb 9oz cracker and Neil Squires of Scopwick, Lincoln, took 6 Rainbows with three over 4lb and returned a Brown estimated around 8lb.
Another pair of Lincolnshire anglers enjoying a good day was Mick Angell and Martin Rowson who recorded 8 cracking fish from the North Arm (three over 4lb). These fish had been feeding on shrimp and were very fat.
Bank anglers have had fish off the dam, Whitwell Creek, Normanton, East Creek and the Peninsula. Fry patterns, nymphs and small lures are working well.
Prospects – in certain areas fish are feeding hard on shrimps, snails, corixa and sticklebacks and fry. The average size of fish caught is very high. Fish were seen moving off the dam last Sunday. A few boats will be available until Sunday 27 November.
