Entries are now being taken for the 2015 Anglian Water Airflo International Championships.
The event is for teams of six anglers, and it will follow the same popular format, as in previous years, with teams entering qualifying rounds and national finals. The prestigious two-day International Final will be fished at Rutland Water on 6th and 7th October 2015, culminating in a presentation evening on the final day.
Together with sponsor Airflo, Anglian Water is hoping that the prize and hospitality fund throughout the competition will reach £35,000. The silver salver first presented in 1982, the WaterAid trophy (for the biggest fish) and the Overseas Trophy (best placed overseas team) will be presented at its presentation dinner, the best in UK fly-fishing
The entry fee for this match is £132 per team of six and this year we are offering a discount of 50 per cent on the entry fee for a second team.
The current title holders are Elinor, who put in an excellent, consistent performance against 22 other top teams in this prestigious match to take Team Gold, the silver salver, £1500 cash and tackle prizes. Over the two days they amassed 68 fish for 139lb 5 5/8oz, a fair margin ahead of second placed Ospreys, who took silver, with 62 fish for 135lb 6½oz. Welsh Hawks took the Bronze medal with 57 fish for 127lb 1 1/8oz. Rutland Water was in excellent form providing anglers with very consistent sport - the overall rod average was 4.36.
