Carsington Sports & Leisure Ltd is sad to announce the passing of Mr John Wilson on Tuesday 24th October 2017.

John was appointed by Severn Trent Water Ltd. as the first ‘Fishery Manager’ at Carsington Water in March 1994 and continued in that role until his retirement in November 1998.

John continued to fish at Carsington every Tuesday during the season since his retirement and was always willing to give his time, expertise and his wealth of knowledge to all the anglers and staff who got to know his smiling face.

John has continued to support the fishery, now run by Carsington Sports and Leisure Ltd in many ways, especially helping to organise the Spring & Autumn Open Competitions and spreading the word of the fishery to newspaper and magazine editors alike.

He will be sadly missed by us all.
