Paul Pearce with his 3lb 12oz brown, the heaviest brown recorded this week.
We had a great final week of fishing for the 2017 season with lighter winds and sunshine.
The rod average was over 2.5 and many rainbows and browns of 4lbs plus were caught.
Thank you to all those who have supported us this season and we look forward to seeing you all in March 2018.
The rod average for this week was 2.58 with 134 fish caught by 52 anglers.
The heaviest Rainbow was 5lb 8oz caught by Bill Richardson
The heaviest Brown was 3lb 12oz caught by Paul Pearce
The most popular spots have been around the North End, Main Basin, Fish Tail Creek, the Dam Wall and Buoys 3 & 5.
Methods & Flies
The most successful flies were daddies, blobs, boobies, pink snakes and black & green lures.
Many anglers have again fished on a drift with both floating and sinking lines bringing success.
Carsington Sports & Leisure Ltd is sad to announce the passing of Mr John Wilson on Tuesday 24th October 2017.
John was appointed by Severn Trent Water Ltd. as the first ‘Fishery Manager’ at Carsington Water in March 1994 and continued in that role until his retirement in November 1998.
John continued to fish at Carsington every Tuesday during the season since his retirement and was always willing to give his time, expertise and his wealth of knowledge to all the anglers and staff who got to know his smiling face.
John has continued to support the fishery, now run by Carsington Sports and Leisure Ltd in many ways, especially helping to organise the Spring & Autumn Open Competitions and spreading the word of the fishery to newspaper and magazine editors alike.
He will be sadly missed by us all.
