We’re rewarding you for your special catches. Meet the targets, win the prizes and find fame in the pages of Total FlyFisher!

We know how good it feels to get that special fish in the net. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Snowbee to bring you a fantastic series designed to reward your catches and give you something to remind you of your best fish for years to come.

The TFF Snowbee Challenge sets you six targets. Meet just one target and you’ll be sent a classy enamelled badge to display on your hat or waistcoat. There’s also the chance to win some great Snowbee tackle every month. Even better, the photos and stories behind the most noteworthy captures will be printed.

With categories from Small Water Rainbow to Big Water Brown, Salmon & Sea Trout and everything in between, there’s a target to hit wherever you fish. The ‘Snowbee Challenge Angler Of The Month’ will be picked by us. You don’t have to catch the biggest fish to win; it could be an exceptional specimen for the venue, a first fish, a personal best or an unusual capture.
Richard Roney
SMALL WATER RAINBOW
Richard tells us he was fishing a bloodworm under some bushes at Bankhouse Fishery when he had three small twitches on his indicator. He nearly fell over when he saw the size of the ‘thing’ he then hooked! It put up a cracking fight by the sounds of it – the fish certainly looks fit- and needed the back-up of a larger net to land it. Having quickly weighed the trout, Richard retuned the fish to fight another day.

GEOFF PETHO
BIG WATER RAINBOW
Fishing on reservoirs in the spring is often an exciting and rewarding experience – as Geoff Petho found out for himself.
He used a slow figure-of-eight retrieve and a three-fly cast of two Diawl Bachs and a Hot Head Damsel – a combo that this fine Stocks Reservoir rainbow couldn’t resist!

MICHAEL THWAITES
RIVER TROUT AND GRAYLING
As they say: “The proof of the pudding is in the eating,” which is something Michael Thwaites proved when he caught this fabulous grayling. He targeted a stretch of the River Wear that’s received tireless attention from the local angling club to clean it up and improve the fishing.
He fished a Pheasant Tail Nymph to tempt the grayling, which took him a full five minutes to land.

YVES TURCKSIN
You couldn’t ask for a better birthday present, could you? Yves had a session on Freux Lake for his big day, a lovely looking venue in Belgium’s Ardennes region. He set up with a team of buzzers and managed to tempt this corking rainbow trout with the red one he had on the dropper.

COLIN REEK
It’s a real month of records this month, and here’s another. Colin set a new ‘high’ for Nottinghamshire Trout Fishery when he landed this fantastic-looking rainbow. He fished a home-tied Stick Fly on 6lb leader to get the take. Once landed he had to carry the ‘beast’ to a nearby farm to have it weighed properly – he’s now got it proudly displayed in a glass case!

ZDENEK GLAESNER
If the prospect of fishing a large reservoir daunts you, then try tackling the Baltic Sea! It didn’t put Zdenik Glaesner off, not at all, and he’s obviously a man who knows what he’s doing. Zdenik fished the Baltic from the shore and was duly rewarded with this stunning sea trout. You don’t get fresher than that!

RON RITCHIE
The smile say’s it all! This man is as pleased as punch – and rightly so. Ron Ritchie was having a slow morning when he had a ‘massive’ take from this fit-looking trout. He told us that “this was one acrobatic fish for its size” and it took him 20 minutes to land! Being fairly new to the sport, he was worried that he might lose it, but no, you did it Ron. It was a great effort – we’re proud of you!

ANDREW BARROWMAN
A Sunburst Humungus fished on a floating line, coupled with a fast retrieve, saw Andrew Barrowman hook, and land, a new Haddo Trout Fishery blue trout record. This cracking fish took him 10 minutes to land and he told us that there were a few “hairy” moments when the fish dived under the boat!
